We see our centre as a home from home where people come to gain the support they need to deal with the effects of cancer.

Our founder Chris knows first hand the effects of cancer and believes she would have benefited from a place such as this that is why she decided to open Warringtons first voluntary cancer support centre here in the town centre.

Friday Morning Drop In

Here at John Holt we have a drop in morning on Fridays giving the public a chance to have a chat with our volunteers and other members. This is regarded as more of a social event, we have a variety of activates allowing you to talk to others that have been through a similar journey as yourself and gain important information and support.

All our treatments are provided free thanks to volunteers and fundraising. We believe we provide a comfortable relaxing environment while giving a warm welcoming embrace to all our members.

Why not pop in for a coffee, we would love to show you around. We are very informal and friendly, your more than welcome to bring someone with you. We have a volunteer driver who can pick you up & take you home again if transport is a problem.

John, Chris and Penny were a devoted loving family until unfortunately in December 2001 John lost his battle with cancer, he is dearly missed. Chris experienced further devastation when she also lost her Mother Betty and Aunt Fran all within the same year.

In March 2008 Chris and her family also suffered further loss of her dear Father Ernie and Sister In Law Teresa to cancer, within two weeks of each other.

Why Two Feathers?

Whilst John was alive he was well known around the community for the two feathers in his black cowboy hat. John also had a keen interest in all things native american from the spiritual aspect through to their crafts.

The two white feathers in the logo represent balance, this comes from the eagle which is dependant on one feather on the tip of each wing, which enables it to achieve perfect balance during flight.

Chris has always felt the need for a 'home from home 'community support group where you can drop by for a one to one chat, a cup of tea and to meet other people who understand what you are going through.
